What happens when four girlfriends are inadvertently reunited by the tragic death of a close high school friend. Can rekindling this friendship, save their own lives? They form a Society to initially help bury Dineo and in the process experience their own trials and triumphs as empowered black women in the new South Africa – women who have to deal with culture, sexism, assimilation, relationships, career, history, stereotypes and their own fledgling friendship – all in an effort to be themselves.
