Saints are found in many of the world’s greatest religions, but most often they’re associated with Catholicism. And most of us have heard of at least a handful of them – St Francis of Assisi, St Christopher, Mother Teresa. And then, of course, there’s St Valentine, the saint of love, who is celebrated widely in the Western world, and paradoxically, on the date of his rather grisly death.
