Giyani The Land of Blood is a telenovela set between a village in
Giyani and the Capital city of South Africa – Pretoria. When a
village in Giyani is awarded a lucrative banana plantation farm over
a land claim, it brings together two men separated by the liberation
struggle, which turned them into sworn enemies. They find
themselves caught in a battle over the soul of the banana plantation
and the community while having to deal with the reality of the past
as their children fall in love.
Giyani The Land of Blood is the very first Xitsonga telenovela which
explores the inherited legacy of the South African struggle for
democracy, and explores the legacy that democracy presents in the
midst of a skewed society where few black South Africans have been
able to accumulate immense wealth, while many other remain in the
Giyani land of blood
