Night Shift follows outsider, orphan and streetwise hooker Ayanda. Ayanda’s life is saved in more ways than one when she meets the ladies of the Night Shift, a group of Johannesburg’s night-time street sweepers who save her from being stabbed by a sadistic john (Mr. September). They give her a second chance at life as they open their arms to the lonely streetwalker and allow her to join their work and take her in as one of their own. Their selfless act of saving Ayanda brings the darkness they fear into the light of day and threatens the family they are trying to build.
