A team of experts (archaeologist, historian and marine biologist) take us on this 3000 km journey from Alexander Bay to Kosi Bay. They encourage our viewers to relate and engage with the topics, telling the local story in a spirit of optimism and adventure. To accomplish this, we focus on the unique points of interest for each area and build an encyclopedic picture of the South African shoreline, while discovering the secrets, the scenery and the stories that make our coast unique and how life at the edge shaped our destiny.
South Africa’s coast is the meeting place of two ocean giants – the cold Benguela current of the Atlantic Ocean and the warm Agulhas of the Indian Ocean. They clash fiercely at the continent’s southern tip, dividing the region into two contrasting marine ecosystems that rank amongst the richest, most biologically diverse and oceanographically complex on the planet.
